Studying to discover, not to confirm.

At the end of the 20th century, the formidable detractor of Christianity and European morality, Friedrich Nietzsche, set out to carry out a review of the origin of European Christian morality and, more vigorously, of Christian love. From this study, he concluded that this love has sprung from “Jewish hatred”, that is, from resentment. Years later, the German philosopher, Max Scheler, would assess that thesis, pointing out that Nietzsche was wrong in his conclusion. Carlos Santos-Aguirre proceeds to analyze in this book the concept of love and resentment from the philosophical perspective of Nietzsche and Scheler, trying to answer the following question: Is Christian love the result of resentment or its overcoming? The answer contains a rigorous exposition of the contributions of both thinkers, followed by an original proposal by the author.

My long-term plan with this platform is to promote and model critical thinking in a holistic way, that is, integrating rationality and spirituality. That is why the approach to think through complex topics and problems is that of an interdisciplinary one: philosophy and theology. I would highly appreciate any support to make this big project come true!
